Jute Information of Bangladesh

Bangladesh is the producer of more than 80% of total jute production in the world. That's why jute called the Golder Fiber of Bangladesh. Jute is the most popular natural fiber next to cotton.

There are several organizations and industries in Bangladesh are researching to develope jute products and its uses. Bangladesh Jute Research Institute is one of the major organizations that research on jute. Cotheeka Jute Industry in Bangladesh manufactures and research a lot of varities of jute products which are exported all around the world. International Jute Study Group is also working on jute for many years.

Jute yarn, twine, ropes, sacking cloths, jute bags, sacks, hessian cloths, gunny bags, burlap bags, scrim fabrics for soil erosion control, handicrafts, jute sole/wedge/heel, espadrille, sandals/slippers etc. are some popular jute products.
